Sometimes you just don’t steam the artichokes long enough but the whole famn-damily is already sitting around the table and there’s five minutes left on the microwave. What’s Miss Manners going to do? She always keeps an elegant appetizer or two on hand, like a tin of foie gras or (collective family Achilles heel) a bag of Trader Joe’s Cheez Crunchies.
